How does TOPS work?
1
1
Load the Chamber
Your waste - banana peels, test tubes, medical gloves, mystery muck - goes into the Primary Chamber.
It's sealed, safe, and built to handle both regular trash and medical waste.
2
2
Crank Up the Heat
Inside the chamber, temperatures rise to around 1,600°F.
Hot enough to make waste break down, but without the uncontrolled chaos of open burning.
At this point, it's not fire, it's chemistry.
3
3
Solid to Gas
At high heat, solids start to fall apart and turn into a synthetic gas (a.k.a. "syngas").
This isn't smoke - it's a whole new form of the waste.
4
4
Move It to the Brain
The gas travels into the Secondary Chamber, which we call the Brain. This is where the syngas meets oxygen and ignites at about 1,800°F.
This is where the real transformation happens.
The syngas gets scrubbed down at the molecular level - breaking apart toxins and neutralizing dangerous compounds.
5
5
Capture the Energy
All that extreme heat, it's not wasted.
The thermal energy generated in the secondary chamber can be converted into electricity or used directly to power nearby operations - like a facility, clinic, or even the system itself.
Yes, your trash can literally help keep the lights on.

What's Left?
Honestly? Not much.
- 97% less volume than what you started with
- A bit of carbon-free ash
- Metals and glass that can be safely recycled
- And (most importantly) clean air, certified safe by environmental regulators
